About Me

I suppose you want answers, then.

Well, my name is Miriam. I'm queer; I'm a feminist; I'm an atheist. I live in Melbourne with various members of my family, including a pair of small hairy sentient sausages.

I'm on the way to getting a Masters in Publishing and Editing. I'm not sure where I want that to lead, but I have an utter fixation on the English language, words, narratives, and ways of communicating. The way I see it, the publishing industry is about to undergo a massive shift as it absorbs the possibilities of the digital universe. So I'm watching.

I'm obsessed by the world of ideas, and one of the main purposes of this blog is to allow me to discuss and respond to the ideas I read about during the many squinty hours I spend in front of my loyal purple computer. Here's a basic rundown of the kind of content you'll find on the blog.

Aside from writing, I also run two jewellery stores on Etsy:

Gran's Forgotten Gems

A collection of vintage Australian jewellery made
by my grandmother several decades ago

and
A Piece of Me

A store where I sell my own jewellery craft. My aim was to
create jewellery that makes a statement about its wearer.

I like to bake sweet things; I like overanalysing movies; and I drink a lot of tea. I hope this covers everything.
